- Develop, refine, analyze, and apply physics-based 3D MBD models of vehicle systems, and subsystems to assess the performance of existing and proposed vehicle designs against requirements, and to assist in design modifications
- Develop physics based, high-fidelity MBD models of all vehicles, subsystems, components, control systems and road surfaces using a variety of engineering software applications, including ADAMS, MATLAB, AMESIM, Simulink and others
- Evaluate correlation of modeled vehicles, subsystems, components, control systems and road surfaces to measured test data
- Evaluate all aspects of vehicle static and dynamic performance including Weight, CG, Inertia, Ride, Steering, Handling, Braking, Acceleration, Mobility, and Durability, by simulating real world test events required by military customers over a wide range of environmental conditions to meet all customer requirements, specifications, and functional design requirements of the vehicle
- Coordinate with vehicle design, test, development, and production Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to develop design specifications
- Author technical reports to document and share simulation results, conduct technical presentations to convey and explain simulation results, and to make design recommendations
- Create analytical tools as needed, in support of creating models and running simulations
- Evaluate / Develop / Implement new simulation software versions, capabilities, features, and methodologies
- Maintain a repository of simulation tools, modeling methods, knowledge, and reference materials
- Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of results throughout all program phases
- Support data management, configuration management, risk management, and issue identification and tracking activities
- Assist in trade studies to improve systems performance for size, weight, power, cooling, and affordability
- Assist in the development of system test plans and procedures, systems laboratory testing, and support system qualification in field
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree, with a concentration in electrical, mechanical, or similar engineering discipline
- 5 years of MBD vehicle simulation and development experience using MBD software such as MSC/ADAMS or Virtual Lab
- 5 years experience in automotive system and component design, development, and testing (body, chassis, brakes, driveline, powertrain, steering, suspension, tire and wheels)
- Knowledge in military body, kits, interior integration, and development, including experience with DoD contract requirements and specifications for ground vehicles
- Extensive 3D simulation and analysis and interpretation of specifications and standards applicable to vehicles and/or assemblies
- Understanding of 3D Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD) simulation in vehicle static and dynamic performance including Weight, Inertia, Ride, Steering as well as in a range of environmental situations
- Experience / knowledge with using other engineering simulation software such as AMESIM (Imagine. Lab), EASY5, C++, and MATLAB/Simulink
- Preferable experience / knowledge with using CAD software and 3D modeling
- Experience / knowledge with using office automation software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, etc.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with engineers, vendors, and others

- Physical Strength: must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry objects using hands, arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups
- Stamina: must be able to occasionally exert oneself physically over long periods of time, including performing repetitive or strenuous tasks as well as standing and sitting for long periods
- Physical Location:This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to a specific shift or hours. The Employee must be able to perform job functions in an environment with varying difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noises
